RSS2 GEIGER MULLER (GM) RESOLVING TIME SET

The RSS2 source set plays a crucial role in assessing the resolving time of a Geiger-Müller (GM) counter, a vital parameter that measures how rapidly the counter can react to and discern individual radiation events. The resolving time essentially represents the duration required for the GM counter to identify and process a radiation event.

To create the individual sources of the RSS2 source set, radioactive material is placed within a well situated at the center of an injection-molded Plexiglas® disk. Afterward, the radioactive substance is allowed to dry and securely sealed using an epoxy plug. The RSS2 set comprises three half-disks, with two of them containing Tl-204 and the remaining one containing no material.

AVAILABLE CONFIGURATIONS

The RSS2 source set is available in two different configurations:

  • RSS2: Contains 2 half-disks with 5 µCi of Tl-204 in each (10 µCi total).
  • RSS2-EU: Contains 2 half-disks with 0.25 µCi of Tl-204 in each (0.5 µCi total).

The "EU" version would be the preferred version for international customers.

CALIBRATION OPTIONS

The RSS2 source set is not available for calibration. The maximum deviation of the delivered activity from the nominal values listed is ±20%.

REGULATORY COMPLIANCE

Activities provided will not exceed the U.S. NRC Exempt Quantity limit.
